Firebox comes in 1st place because these guys get their stuff first, and they were also the first place you could buy the Pico Z palm sized choppers in the UK (that we're aware of, see it below this review) in fact, Ed. got a chopper for his birthday this year, and within 2 days the rest of the guys had one, and coupled with the theme tune to TV Classic Airwolf blasting out of our PC speakers, it was certainly a fun time to which we owe a massive thanks to Firebox.

Another great product we found here was their Thinking Putty, at last count they had 5 different types of this super stress relief in a tin ranging from bouncy putty (trust us, this stuff bounces high and has all sorts of mad properties) Magnetic puttty, colour changing putty the list just goes on. It becomes like an addiction and you just want to keep collecting them.
The service from Firebox is good to, and its easier to find the stuff you want here too. Once again they have price tags to suit all buyers from £5 to a mammoth £340k for our favorite product of them all the Sky Car!!
Yep you heard us right, a sky car! (see pic)

Albeit this is really only for the super rich you gotta give firebox credit for stocking it!

PicoZ Micro Helicopter
Worth the money!!! At £24,95
Its great fun and easy to fly, probably the best R/C model on the net. we recomend it to any novice & pro alike
Please Note: The PicoZ is available in three channels (A, B and C) , so you can fly up to three at once!
Pedals, joysticks, flight manuals, Bruno Brookes-style leather blouson…it's a right rigmarole flying a chopper, isn't it? Well no, not if you buy the amazing PicoZ Micro Helicopter.
Ready-to-fly straight out the box, this palm-sized IR flying machine is perfect for indoor flights. And it won't blow off the boss's toupee or decapitate the dog, even in a head-on collision, as it's only 17cm long and weighs a mere 10g. More importantly it won't fall to bits, as it's constructed from robust polypropylene foam.
You control the airborne action via a twin channel, wide-beam infra-red transmitter that doubles up as a charger. With a range of up to 30ft, you'll soon be conducting hush-hush raids on distant enemy desks and, thanks to the Pico's eerie blue strobe light, putting the willies up the late shift. Just make sure you don't hum the music to Magnum whilst doing so - it's a dead giveaway!

Unlike the whopping great petrol-driven choppers of yesteryear, the Pico's powerful micro motors are powered by a lightweight lithium polymer battery, giving flight times of up to 10 minutes from a half hour charge. More than enough to harass housemates and buzz the budgie. Indeed, when it comes to manoeuvrability, this nifty chopper is the canine's cojones. And that's down to an ingenious auto-stability system which makes flying the Pico a doddle.

We guarantee you'll be utterly addicted to this titchy triumph of micro technology before you can say 'Jan Michael Vincent' (whippersnappers get Googling), and the whole indoor flight angle adds a thrilling new dimension to proceedings. Open spaces? Who need 'em!

X-Twin Bi-Plane
Congratulations on an excellent remote control plane. We bought a set of two and we have spent all weekend mastering the art of flying in all weather conditions. They are amazingly durable and easy to fly, we have already mastered a barrel turn by stalling on a climb ! the noise they make is great and the sight of them weaving around the courtyard is hypnotic. all of our neighbours have enquired about where they came from. One plane is good, two makes for an aerial display.
Worth the money!!! At £24,95
used to need lessons, licenses, a huge field and a nerdy anorak to enjoy flying RC planes. But not any more, because the brilliant little X-Twin Bi-Plane is so easy to fly even rubbish pilots will be able to pull off Immelman turns, Split-Ss, wingovers, tailslides and barrel rolls - well not really but with a little practice you will be executing graceful figures of eight and swooping turns in the comfort of your own living room.
Weighing in at a mere 20 grams with a wingspan of less than 9", the ultra-light X-Twin is made of tough EPP foam, enabling it to withstand all manner of crashes and collisions, so there's no need to reach for the superglue every time your lack of piloting prowess results in a nasty wipeout.

Smart aerodynamics and powerful wing-mounted motors make this magnificent rechargeable flying machine incredibly manoeuvrable. In fact, the X-Twin is so nimble it can even be flown indoors! Yes, indoors! Try doing that with one of your petrol-driven behemoths of yesteryear. (Actually, don't...you'll wreck the place).
You control the X-Twin via a smart handheld transmitter which also doubles up as a charging unit. And you won't spend all day fiddling with your rudder because a 30 minute charge gives flight times of up to 15 minutes - more than enough time to dive-bomb the coffee machine, loop-the-loop above the boss's desk and soar across the IT department (or is it just us that wastes time at work?).

Best of all the ready-to-fly, fully adjustable X-Twin is available in two frequencies, so you can take to the skies alongside a fellow flyer and engage in acrobatic dogfights. We guarantee you'll be making stupid plane noises the second your X-Twin starts tailing the enemy. Nee-urrgh...atatatata!
If you've never piloted an RC plane, the take-anywhere X-Twin represents an ideal introduction to model flying. But even if you're a self-appointed expert, this nifty little aircraft is sure to amaze, as it's so darned simple to fly. So what are you hanging about for? Get ordering before the skies become overrun by X-Twins.

Creative Zen V Plus

FREE Zen Sports Armband with cover!
Before you start rummaging around the Apple yard for a titchy MP3 player, you'd be wise to check out the ultra-sleek Zen V Plus. Because gadget connoisseurs (ourselves included) agree that this iGod-trouncing slice of Creative genius trumps the competition in almost every department.
Tiny size!
Available in 1GB, 2GB and 4GB versions, the V Plus is crammed with user-friendly features and unlike its equally teeny rival (begins with 'n' ends with 'o') boasts video playback. So as well as filling your lugholes with high quality digital music, you can play video clips and view photos too!
Thanks to its crystal clear 1.5" OLED* colour screen, watching video clips on the V Plus is a squint-free pleasure. You can even flip vids horizontally for a wider aspect. Okay, so it's hardly a 42" plasma, but if you want to watch the latest Girls Aloud video on the 7.15 from Paddington (and who wouldn't?) this is ideal.
The shapely V Plus also features a convenient line-in jack, which allows you to transfer music directly from a CD player (no computer required). And just like Creative's other players it has a built-in microphone, so you can record voice memos (note to self: this V Plus is flippin' awesome).
If all this technology is making you sweat, relax: an amazingly intuitive joystick makes navigating menus a breeze; a complete techno-dunce could find the aforementioned Girls Aloud vid in seconds. Learning the dance moves is another matter - we've tried!
Mic, Line-in, Headphones and USB 2.0
Add to this litany of brilliance an FM radio, multiple format support, alarm clock function, 8 preset and custom EQ settings, plus a rechargeable battery capable of powering the V Plus for up to 15 hours, all in a tiny box ( 43.5mm x 67.5mm x 15.9mm ) that weighs just 43g and you're looking at a player good enough to give its whiter than white rival a serious inferiority complex.
In fact we can think of no good reason why you wouldn't want a Zen V Plus in your pocket right now - unless your trousers are in the wash. So get ordering while stocks last. This little gizmo's set to fly off the shelves faster than you can say iWhat.

iTheater
Futuristic shades that you can watch movies on are usually the stuff of far-fetched films and episodes of Star Trek. But as with mobile phones, voice-activated computers and cloaking devices (what, haven't you got one?), science fiction has now become science fact.
That's because iTheater is a stunningly impressive piece of eyewear that allows you to watch whatever you like whenever you like, in the privacy of your own…erm, head. Simply put on the sleek, lightweight goggles, bung in the integrated earphones and prepare to be totally blown away by a fully immersive audiovisual assault.
Does not repress laser eye-beam powers
Ingenious optical trickery causes iTheater's twin TFT LCD monitors to replicate the effect of watching a massive 50" screen from a distance of 8.5ft. Don't ask us how - apparently it's got something to do with optical alignment, binocular display and pupil size. All we know is the effect is like having a home cinema grafted on to your retinas - amazing! And there's no need to strain because the dual screens cause eyes to focus at 2.5m.
iTheater works with almost any video source (iPod, DVD, laptop etc.), making it an all-encompassing hour-cruncher on long journeys (assuming you're not actually driving). Yes, you'll look like Geordi La Forge, but who cares about that when you're totally absorbed in the latest blockbuster/game/video. Besides, twenty years ago mobile phone users looked like Captain Kirk. That's progress.
iTheater's power supply holds up to 8 hours of juice, so you won't have to leave your virtual world to search for batteries. It really is the ultimate travelling companion - there's even a handy USB charger for all you roving laptop lovers.
Apart from welding a 50" plasma to the end of your hooter and chucking a black sheet over your head, we can think of no better way to completely immerse yourself in a movie. So hurry up and hit Buy. The future's so bright, you just gotta wear iTheater!

Thinking Putty
Now this Putty is addictive, we have about six tins. It is by far the best Putty on the market at a great price of £7.95
Thinking Putty's unique properties mean it doesn't react quite like any other substance known to man. Thinking Putty will bounce, but with enough force it will also shatter. Thinking Putty will stretch, but you can also tear it. Thinking Putty can even be made to snap. As David Coleman used to say, "Quite remarkable".
Thinking Putty is completely unique and now, thanks to Firebox, you can own a tin packed with around 90g of the stuff, ready to put to work for whatever cause you see fit. Remember: there's very little that can't be achieved with a tin of Thinking Putty and the bare minimum of effort:
- It bounces...
- It stretches and squishes...
- It lifts print from newspapers...
- It snaps, crackles and pops...
- It shears and tears...
- It melts and drips...
- It even shatters!

Thinking Putty is perfect for stress and tension relief, as a desktop or office toy and as a cure for boredom. Made any amusing sculptures or found other interesting uses for Thinking Putty? Send us your photos, videos & reviews!
Watching people react to Putty is truly a unique experience. Maybe you just look at it, hesitant to touch something that might be "sticky" or "gooey". Perhaps you aren't comfortable playing with a toy in front of your workmates? Eventually, though, your subconscious wins over, it'll be in your hands, and you'll never put it down! Squeezing, stretching, and shaping. You won't even realize it's there! As it melts your stress away your creative potential will be unleashed!
...Once you pick Thinking Putty up, you won't put it down.
Thinking Putty is available in several different types, click each title to find out more:

How does it do that?! Thinking Putty is a dilatant compound, (which means it becomes solid under the influence of pressure), and it displays four different properties on four different time scales:
- At very long timescales, it behaves like a liquid spreading out onto a flat surface.
- At moderate timescales, Thinking Putty stretches like a plastic solid.
- At short timescales, it bounces like an elastic solid.
- At very short timescales (the impact of a high-speed projectile), Thinking Putty simply shatters.
